North Carolina Lawmakers Move to Ensure Women’s Privacy and Safety

The following quote may be attributed to Alliance Defending Freedom Senior Counsel Erik Baptist regarding the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina’s decision Friday to prevent North Carolina’s pro-life laws from going into effect while the lawsuit, Planned Parenthood South Atlantic v. Stein , continues:

“Abortion is not health care, and North Carolina is free to protect the health and safety of women and girls in the state. The General Assembly reasonably enacted commonsense protections for women undergoing chemical and surgical abortions. North Carolina women deserve the dignity and respect that comes from receiving life-affirming health care—not the abortion industry’s false choice between doing what’s best for the mother and protecting the life of her child. We will consider all legal options to further support North Carolina’s unborn children and mothers, and the right of the General Assembly to protect its vulnerable citizens.”

Alliance Defending Freedom is an alliance-building, non-profit legal organization committed to protecting religious freedom, free speech, parental rights, and the sanctity of life.
